The Interrogation is the sixth episode of the first season of Designated Survivor and the sixth episode overall.

Summary[]

Kirkman's plan to elect a new Congress is put in jeopardy after a shooting disrupts a Governors' Summit; Wells and Atwood interrogate Majid Nassar about his role in the bombing; and Aaron and Emily offer MacLeish the position of Vice President.

Synopsis[]

  • Kirkman hosts a Governors' Ball to start the process of putting together Senate and Congress. Kirkman jokes he's a registered Independent. A shooting starts with AR-15. Mike falls and goes into surgery.
  • Ritter got the shooter. Pledged allegiance on social media to Majid Nassar.
  • In the ops room, they (FBI and CIA) discuss whether they want to move him to an offsite.
  • Emily asks Atwood to vet MacLeish for VP.
  • Governor Rivera won't let the Syrian refugees who landed in Miami off the plane.
  • At the Governor's meeting, they all discuss that they don't know Kirkman as a person. Governor Nichols from Arizona puts him 'on trial'. Kirkman concedes.
  • Atwood takes Wells to interrogate Majid. Wells accuses Majid that Al-Sakar doesn't have the skills. Catches him in a lie. Wells teases that they will call GID about Dena, Majid's 'other' family. Majid confesses that 'he' said he wanted the same thing, Death to America. His name was Catalan.
  • Kirkman walks out of the meeting. The next day, he goes back and gives a moving speech.
  • Arizona's govenor and Florida's governor wants to suspend immigration from everywhere. They ask him - which do you want more, Immigration or Congress? Just until things settle. Kirkman gives in. Alex and Kirkman letter get into a fight.
  • Wells and Jason search for Catalan, they find nothing.
  • Tom calls Mike in hospital. They joke about their Hockey teams.
  • Majid gets murdered in prison.
